What Our Customers Are Saying

  • These guys did a great job. I worked with Mike Horner to figure out how to best achieve what I was trying to do. He was knowledgeable and gave me numerous options to cool my upstairs. The installers did the job when they said they would and did a great job with the install. Thanks Climatech!

Climatech, formerly Betlyn’s Heating (at least their location in Moon Twp., PA), got the job done quickly and neatly, I have no complaints on that front. Paul Betlyn, the former owner of the company, really is a great guy and it’s because he helped us out last Summer that we called him when our system stopped working this past week in February. The repair was going to be far more than one would want to pay based on the cost of an entirely new system, and since we were at 22 years old with the current one, we decided to move forward with both a new furnace and AC. Paul measured everything, quoted us the full cost, and even gave us a space heater until they could get here just two days later…really was a great experience. My only complaint about the entire process came after everything was installed and the techs had left. Paul’s quote had a line for a “programmable/non-programmable thermostat and ALL CONTROL WIRING” and the way he filled it out was he crossed out what wasn’t being done and left the things that were to be done without lines through them on the paper. He crossed out the need for a thermostat but left the “All Control Wiring” part there. We assumed this meant they would handle new thermostat wiring because when Paul was out the previous summer to fix our situation, we determined that the yellow and white wires were shorting/touching together somewhere along the run and we ended up needing to use our blue/C wire as the new W. Well unfortunately, we didn’t get new wiring. The techs ran a new 8 conductor wire from the furnace and spliced it into the old above the ductwork in our furnace room (to the 4 that had been used at the tstat), which gave me the feeling they were trying to make it look a certain way, but I won’t jump to any conclusions there. When I inquired about this, I was told by another tech that called the next day to address my concerns that it would be an additional charge for him to actually run new wiring. Not only that, he told me he’d be back to do it the following day and now we’re at two days later and I haven’t heard a word. Long story short, I ended up running the new wiring myself because I didn’t want any power stealing happening between my Nest and my new system and wasn’t going to wait any longer. Fast forward 2 weeks and I’ve also come to notice that none of the 4 techs made any effort to properly set the 1st dip switch on the control board to account for timed second stage heating due to lack of a W2 wire. So they sell and install 2-stage furnaces but aren’t necessarily setting that aspect up to work. Mine was set as though I DID have the W2 connected at both ends. Luckily, I’ve also remedied this by attaching my free brown wire on both ends to W2. I may not often need two stage heating but that’s what I paid for and I want to know it’s going to work when necessary! Aside from these minor misunderstandings/shortfalls, I highly recommend Betlyn’s/Climatech and feel Paul Betlyn is one of the last few amazing HVAC guys out there (we’ve been very much ripped off in the past before we found him). If you need a new setup or someone with a wealth of knowledge to troubleshoot, call him first and then every time after that!

  • This April our AC condenser developed a leak and would no longer cool. It was 25 years old so time for a replacement. Went through a week of getting quotes and comparing systems, 6 in total. Since the furnace was also 25 years old, I decided to replace the entire system both furnace and AC. The old system was Trane which I liked a lot and it had been durable so I was leaning that way. I met with Climatech and Mike Horner proposed an American Standard system. Mike answered all my questions thoroughly. Through research I found that American Standard is identical to Trane and in fact comes off the same assembly line. I ended up getting a 96% efficient furnace with variable speed blower and 16 seer AC condenser. The crew (Al, Mitch and Kevin) that did the install was great, arrived on time, was neat and professional in their work, described how the job would be done and completed within 1 1/2 days. They cleaned up thoroughly when done. They answered all my questions without pause and made sure I was comfortable with how the equipment was set up. I was concerned how the pvc pipes for the new 96% furnace would be run since the old furnace did not require them and they did a great job in laying out the design and cutting through the side of the house. Since the install we have been running the variable speed blower and it has really helped to even out the temperatures in our split-level house. We've used the AC several times since install and it has worked quite well and the entire system is quieter than our old unit. Bottom line, Climatech's price was better than competitors, equipment is top notch and the installation went smoothly. I can recommend them without hesitation. Do your homework but keep them on your short list. We haven't had to use the furnace yet since it's only May but my expectations for the fall heating season are high.

My air conditioner didn't hold a charge and my furnace was old. I called Climatech and Mike H. called back and we made an appointment to look at my system. He was on time, very knowledgeable and was able to understand that I wanted a simple, reliable, easy to repair system. He was easy to talk to, provided estimates for 2 systems the same day, and available later whenever I had a question. After several emails and phone calls we settled on an American Standard AUH18080 95% efficient, 80,000 btu single stage gas furnace, an American Standard Silver 13 SEER 3 ton outdoor condensing unit, a matching high efficiency evaporator coil and a Honeywell thermostat. The cost, 1/2 paid up front and 1/2 paid after installation. Jennifer who coordinates all the residential installations made sure the 2 day installation worked into our schedule. A crew of 2, Ron and Jesse, arrived at the appointed installation time (they worked 8am to 2pm), They took away the existing units, and installed the new units. They made changes necessary to fit the new units into the existing duct work, and added a new drain to drain the condensation from the new units properly. They drilled holes through the brick walls for pipes required by the new efficient units. I've had several installers break through my concrete or brick wall to install things and they did the best job I have seen of patching the hole. To install the air conditioner they needed to go into our neighbors' yard and they were respectful of both that yard and ours. They did a very professional job cleaning up at the end of both days. After the installation they went over the system with me including the new electrical connections for the AC, operation of the new thermostat , furnace operation, etc. I would recommend this company and this team to others.

  • We’ve used Climatech for years, I’m embarrassed this is my first review. Our furnace started making a scary noise on Friday (1/19). Our HVAC technician Will, was prompt, personable, knowledgeable and fixed our issue quickly, and at a fair price. I remembered Will from a prior visit for our AC, it’s nice to know that Climatech attracts and keeps the best technicians. Highly recommend!

The entire team was very professional from the estimate to the install and cleanup. The team did a great job, had the better product prices below the competitors other products. Hands down would use them again.

  • We had Climatech do a routine furnace check up and maintenance. They installed our furnace 10 yrs ago. I was a little concerned that the tech was not vaccinated but he did wear a mask and keep his distance from us. They charged $130 when others advertise $90-$100 with coupons. My fear using the low cost people was they they would "find something wrong" once they were in our house. Logan did his work quietly, came up after 90 minutes and said it looked good. We paid him and he was on his way. I feel you can trust Climatech.

After careful consideration regarding the contractor we would use to install our new Mitsubishi Mini Split Ductless AC System, my wife and I decided to go with Climatech. Our experience was top-shelf from beginning to end, starting with the initial contact with Jennifer, who was not only knowledgeable, but expeditious in getting us set up with an appointment during the hottest spell of the decade. Just days later, Mike was at our house to evaluate our needs and recommend the correct equipment to provide optimal performance with efficiency and aesthetics in mind. Mike was able to determine the ideal system to meet our needs and do so at a price point that was very fair. It was only 5 days thereafter that Ron was on the job installing our new system. In addition to meticulous attention to detail during the installation, Ron was equally professional and courteous. With the help of technicians, Tim & Jake, the system was complete within 3 days and the air quality in our house had been greatly improved. If you’re in need of HVAC work, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Climatech. Sincerely, Tammie & Paul Swissvale, PA

Lou and his crew were top notch on the install process. While Climatech’s price was not the cheapest, I feel it was the best value considering the equipment and quality of the installation. Very happy and very cool!!
